Bible Verse:
Philippians 3:12,13
Not that I have already attained, or am already
perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of
that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of
me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which
are behind and reaching forward to those things
which are ahead.
Don't Bother!
It’s that time again. Time to review the accomplishments
and slip-ups of the past year, learn from them,
and prepare to press on in the new year with joy
and expectancy. However, if you’re planning
on making resolutions, don’t bother. On the
other hand, if you’re actually planning on
setting some goals and then breaking down specific
larger tasks into smaller, measurable sub-goals,
then you’re off to a great start.
We
don’t have to look too far into the past to
see our pitiful track record of keeping resolutions,
particularly if we don’t write them down,
make ourselves accountable, or come up with some
sort of plan.
The
Lord wants this to be a progressive and joy-filled
year for you. There’s nothing really wrong
with making resolutions, but creating a plan and
setting measurable goals is best. Yet, if you want
this year to be the greatest one ever, your first
goal is to allow your relationship with the Lord
to occupy the top of every list. Let Him be the
Lord of your life and this year is certain to be
all that He desires for you.
