Bible Verse: Luke
12: 6, 7
Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and
not one of them is forgotten before God? But even
the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear
not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Luke 12: 6, 7
Even the Very Hairs:
Isn’t it strange how we think God is not interested
in all the facets of our lives? What do I mean?
Oh yes, of course we pray for the new house, the
mate, and the job, but what about asking God for
advice on “smaller” matters. These can
be as simple as what dress to buy, which pair of
shoes will not burn our corns, or asking to be lead
to the store that has the item we want on sale when
our time and resources are limited. Why do we sometimes
feel that seeking direction on these types of things
is trivializing God’s time?
On
countless occasions, I’ve listened to friends
complain and mutter about something or other that
they didn‘t think God would be concerned about.
When I asked if they've prayed about it, responses
vary from incredulous silence to outbursts of hilarity.
Let’s clear this up once and for all -- God
is interested in EVERY element of our lives.
Don't
dishonour God by thinking that He’s not concerned
about the food you put in your mouth or the fact
that you only got 3 hours sleep last night. You
are His child and He wants you to discuss your plans
and solutions with Him. And, most of all, He wants
to provide input, because who knows you best? Let’s
not continue to delude ourselves by thinking we
know all there is to know about what's going on
with us. More often than not we don't, because we
can’t see what’s happening behind the
scenes.
I
think it's high time we take God at His word. If
He knows how many hairs are on your head, why wouldn't
He be concerned if you perm them or press them?
He knows what’s best for ALL of you. God wants
you to talk to Him and to open up all the facets
of your personality to Him. Don’t ever forget
that God’s love and direction extends to your
entire life.
