Bible Verse:
2 Peter 2:9
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of
temptations…
Lord, I did it again
How many time a day do we say, “Oops I did
it again”? Battling with a temptation you
just can’t seem to shake? Take heart; it’s
a very common problem and a very human one. So many
of us have trouble keeping the promises we made
to ourselves and to God regarding those “things”
we know we shouldn’t be doing.
When
it comes to besetting sins, it seems easier to just
follow the course we’ve set and go along with
it. Because we look for the fast fix, we tell ourselves
that we’ll deal with the guilt, shame, and
feelings of separation later. Yet when it’s
all over, we wonder if it’s possible to ever
be free.
It’s
a blessing to serve the kind of God that we do.
He has given us a way to escape every temptation,
but we have to take it. We need to make the choice
to rely on Him and receive His forgiveness. We will
never succeed, unless we believe with ALL our heart
that whatever temporary gratification we obtain
is nothing compared to the abundant life He has
prepared for us.
Don’t
let anything or anyone sway you from the purpose
God has set for you. Take heart, for your victory
is sure. If you do fail, don’t fall into the
trap of condemning yourself. If you really want
to let go of the burden of past mistakes, go directly
to Jesus -- the only one who can change your life
and give you what your soul is really in need of.
