Bible Verse: Psalms
31: 14 - 16
But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, “You
are my God.” My times are in Your hand; Deliver
me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who
persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.
Whose timeline?
Resting in the Lord when you want something to happen
very badly -- and there’s no evidence that
it will -- is very difficult to say the least. Waiting
is hard, but it’s even harder when you don’t
know exactly what you’re waiting for. How
many times have we felt God say yes to us in the
past, but now all the signs point to “NO”?
As
Christians, we know that the desires that God plants
in our hearts have to be watered by faith and patience.
Yet, we often allow our wells to dry up. We haven’t
taken the time to ensure that our supply of faith
is fortified daily, particularly when it’s
the eleventh hour and all the evidence is pointing
to a conflicting outcome.
The
solution is to not let our weaknesses and doubts
get the better of us. Don’t invest your emotions
and energy solely in the outcome, as you spend all
your time asking God “when”. Use the
time to properly seek wisdom and understanding.
If God said that you’re on the right track,
even though He did not mention how long it was going
to take, rest assured that it will come to pass.
Invest
your time in seeking to remain in the Lord’s
will and doing what He asks you to do. Take the
focus away from yourself by praying for someone
else, and keep your mind on God and not the timelines.
If God said it, believe it.
