This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:12
Love is in the air. Talk of it is all around us today, as the media emphasizes all the many expensive ways we can show our special someone the extent of our love. However, we know that there is so much more to it than that. Although it doesn’t seem like it most of the time, love is the very embodiment of our souls, the essence that surrounded our creation and the basis for our daily stepping-stones of grace.
We may not realize it, but the way we treat people or the way that we show love to others is the very foundation of our belief in Christ. You don’t believe it? Well if you are experiencing frustration in an area of your life and you don’t understand why your breakthrough is taking so long, take a look at the way you treat the people around you. If there is strife and unforgiveness in your life, you cannot receive all the blessings of the Lord. It is time to walk in love.
God has given His commandment to love over and over in His word. It is not a mistake that it is repeated so often. God saw how important the concept of daily walking in love would be to His followers down through the ages. Because of this, we must actively seek opportunities to love. When we shift the focus from our struggles and ourselves to ways that we can show love to one another, our whole perspective changes. If we love God, then love is our lifestyle.
